A Name for a Villian

Finally, a name worthy of a massive storm of destruction. Igor is a proper name for a bad guy. James Bond villains are named Igor. Katrina and Camille and Betty are names of girls you want to ask out for coffee, if only you could work up the nerve. Hurricane's should be limited to names of evil: Morlock, Azazel, Ripper. No more Bob or Jeff or Sue.

I Hate it

When it rains just enough to move the dirt on my car around, without washing it clean. Now it looks even worse than before. If I go through all the trouble of getting rained on, I want some benefit.

Ack! The Heat! It Burns!

I take back ever bad thing I have ever said about the rain. Its record setting heat here in Sac this weekend. 109! The bigger problem is that it isn't cooling off at night. Its already 87 degrees and its only 9:00 a.m. And its only going to get hotter. I don't want to leave my apartment and its sweet, sweet air conditioning, but food is running low here at Craigorian Chant World Headquarters, and I'm going to have to go out sooner or later. Courage Man, Courage.

Rain!

Normally, I'm a fan of some rain. I like a good walk in the rain. Washes the world, makes it clean and new. It's romantic even. But enough is enough. If I wanted this kind of weather, I would go live in Seattle. Even the meteorologists are down:

"Rain," sighed Diana Henderson, a National Weather Service meteorologist, when asked for the latest forecast. "We're looking at rain or a chance of rain through next Tuesday."

Did you catch that sigh? One more week of this. I've grown so pale I'm practically transparent. The levees are creaking and both the official Day Job of Craigorian Chant and the Craigorian Chant World Headquarters are not in as secure of locations as I would like. I'm not yet gathering up two of every animal, but I really do think we've gotten enough rain.
