Victory Mother F***ers!

God bless you, first Amendment. A federal appeals court struck down the FCC indecency rules yesterday. So once more the world is safe for Bono to utter "fleeting expletives" during award shows. I'm not sure if this ruling makes it safe for Janet Jackson's boob, but we can always hope.

Stomp the [expletive] Out of that Thing

Congratulations to Shawn White for once again defying gravity and any sense of self-preservation to bring home another snowboarding half-pipe gold metal.

And congratulations to his coach Bud Keene for getting some choice language out on NBC's air. Of course, this means NBC will give us even more tape-delay nonsense, but good on you coach.

Ratfucker Goes Down

Ratfucking, for those of you new to this game, is political dirty tricks. The term comes out the Watergate era. Those guys trying to break into the DNC back in the day? Ratfuckers.

Well the modern equivalent just got himself in similar hot water. James O'Keefe the guy behind the bazaar "dress up like a pimp and see if the ACORN receptionist does anything about it" incident got picked up by the FBI yesterday in a plot to bug the office of Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu's office. A classic ratfucking maneuver.

So where does this all lead? Not to White House, but O'Keefe is plugged into the whole conservative network - media, money, and activists. Who does he work for? Who funds him?

More Greatness from The Wire

All the great lines from The Wire cannot be contained in just one 10-minute YouTube clip. Here's some more:

Not even close to safe for work. You get a lot of things out of The Wire, not the least of which, it will elevate your swearing game.

F- Me, No, Thank You!

I think this is one of the more politically valuable "[Expletive] them" in recent memory.

R-Rated World

Joe Scarborough drops the F-Bomb on MSNBC, ironically while trying to bash incoming CoS Rahm Emanuel's heavy use of the word. Ha, Ha.

Look, we live in an R-rated world, filled with sex and violence and most of all, cussing. I hear cussing everyday. So do you. I myself went to the F-Bomb just today, when a tree planting exercise took a wrong turn. The world of politics, filled with competition, high-tension negotiation and people getting screwed with their pants on. Of course it's filled with swearing. Working on a campaign was where I learned my favorite curse of all time "What a cluster f--k" (lots of things get screwed up on campaign.) Everybody curses up a storm in the world of politics. When from time to time it slips out on TV, why do we always act so shocked?

Shit

George Carlin has died. And here is his opius, The seven words you can't say on television.

Contains adult language, duh.

Curses!

The courts just buggered the FCC attempt to crack down on indecency. And i just love the reasons cited for the ruling:

But the judges said vulgar words are just as often used out of frustration or excitement, and not to convey any broader obscene meaning. “In recent times even the top leaders of our government have used variants of these expletives in a manner that no reasonable person would believe referenced sexual or excretory organs or activities.”

Adopting an argument made by lawyers for NBC, the judges then cited examples in which Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney had used the same language that would be penalized under the policy. Mr. Bush was caught on videotape last July using a common vulgarity that the commission finds objectionable in a conversation with Prime Minister Tony Blair of Britain. Three years ago, Mr. Cheney was widely reported to have muttered an angry obscene version of “get lost” to Senator Patrick Leahy on the floor of the United States Senate.

That's right, because the President and Vice-President cuss, it is now safe for the rest of us (the peon, like Bono) to cuss as well. Thanks to this Administration, we are now a more vulgur nation.

Thank you Mr. President.

Thanks Mom

I too keep the swearing down on this blog because I know my Mom reads it. It seems to be a universal trend.
