The good news is that Bush's one feeble move to be a compassionate conservative is breaking the Republican Party apart. The bad news is that Bush's one feeble move to be a compassionate conservative shows how little compassion and how much bigotry still runs through America's veins. These people will return to coughing up money to support the politics of fear and loathing as soon as it becomes clear that there will actually be a Democrat on the presidential ballot, and contributions will double if the nominee is Hillary.
