Holy Mother, Alberto Gonzales gave what is quite possibly the worse testimony before Congress in the history of the Republic. It was so bad that the Republican members of the Judiciary Committee are openly talking about prosecuting him for
pergury. If Larry really wanted to impeach somebody, I know where I would start.

Alberto Gonzales has no incentive to tell the truth and every incentive in the world to lie. And what's the worst thing Congress can do to him...fire him? Make him step down? So? He'll still be advising Bush in some capacity. And even if they proscuted him, Bush would either commute any sentence or flat out pardon the guy.
Hey...will someone wake me up in 2009? I don't think I can take much more of this.
I don't believe Gonzales can be impeached because he is not an elected official. I think all Congress can do is charge him with a crime, like perjury. And who gets to prosecute such crimes? The Justice Department.
I was wrong. Gonzales can be impeached. From Wikipedia -
"For the executive branch, only those who have allegedly committed "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors" may be impeached."
