Gay Day

The California Supreme Court just overturned the law banning gay marriage. Which means we now have gay marriage in California. How long it lasts... well it is California, so we get to vote on it. Again. The gay marriage ban won something like 60-40 in 2000, but a lot of old fundy-dudies have, um, left the voter pool and many enlightened youngsters have entered. So this issue is still in play. But gay people are going to get married for next few months, and the world isn't going to end. So maybe that turns some people around.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if gay marriage opponets are able to get the constitutional ban on the ballot come November. The Governator has said he won't support the ban, and as you said, we've had a bit of a shift in the voting pool. Not to mention that this November's election looks like it's going to be a big deal, which means we'll get more people out there voting, which might be a good thing.

And no, I won't be getting married anytime soon, if ever. And yes, I've already been asked by lots of people...

But Laura, I have the perfect dress to wear. And I know a killer DJ who would cut you such a deal. . .
