Everything You Want

Justice is for Marty and The Departed.

Justice for Al Gore. Best Song Too.

Good montages and bad interpretive dance.

Everything you want from an Academy Awards ceremony in one neat little four hour(!) package.

I'm glad Marty won for directing (finally!) but was hoping the little movie that could (Little Miss Sunshine) won for Best Picture.

I was surprised and happy that Alan Arkin won for Little Miss Sunshine. His role was touching: helping his granddaughter out with her routine and consoling his son when his deal fell through, and funny: snorting heroin because "when you're old, you're crazy not to." and what he was actually teaching his granddaughter for her routine, but I kinda thought Eddie Murphy had this one in the bag.

I'm glad Al Gore won something (well technically the director won the Oscar) and was really surprised that Melissa Etheridge won for Best Song (from An Inconvenient Truth)... okay, not as surprised as hearing Three 6 Mafia won last year, but still. Three songs from Dreamgirls lost?

I couldn't believe it was four hours long! Isn't it supposed to be three???
